The Rocky Mountains

Before I came to Canada, I had known that there is a great mountain across the North America from my geography class. Its name is Rocky Mountains. I also heard that it’s the barrier of the west North America and very important to the region. However, I just learned it in the map and I never saw it. In my imagination, it is the long, high and huge mountain. When I was in the plane from Vancouver to Calgary, I saw a series of ranges under the plane. It is a broad range of mountains because most of scene in my fly was the mountains. They are also high as the snow still on the mountains. I was aware I was passing the Rocky Mountains, but I though it just so-so. After I arrived in Calgary, I saw the great mountains in single hill again. They are so near the city. Calgary just lies on the foot of the mountains. Off course, they are pretty beautiful and spectacular. What the great mountains! I don’t know how I can describe my thinking of the time I saw the mountains. It’s totally different from watching from the plan. I hop I can have chance to go the mountains, face to face, to see how spectacular it is. Before that, I think I can take a look at it everyday when I am waiting for my bus.

Music

I like listening to music. I like different kinds of music. But I am not professional in music; I just listen to them shallowly. I have no idea that which kind of music is my most favorites. Rock, pop, electronic, …and the ones I don't know their names. I had tried to understand the classical music to make me like a high class man in a time, but I found I prefer to rock music than classical music at last. I pay less attention on the lyric of songs. I mostly enjoy the rhythm except I really like the song and want to know what it's talking about. I also have no idol; I usually don't know who is the singer of the song I am listening is. Certainly, I always don't know what kind of music I am listening. What music I want just depends on my will, may be my emotion. I believe music has a special magic. Music can may me feel happy, help me refresh; sometimes music make me to image the nice thing, give me the positive feeling and give the hope; it also can leave me in sadness and crazy.Wow, I don't know what I am talking about, just like the music in my brain. Extremely massy, just know what I want now, but have no plan for the next.

Silent world

It's snow again last night. But I think it's not heavy because there just a thin snow on the ground. I got up early this morning do the straggly things and the crazy homework. When I went out and waiting for the bus, there's little snow following, I couldn't see any car and people passing in the street. It's so quiet and I couldn't hear anything. Before I came here, I had lived in Guangzhou for a year. Guangzhou is a big city in China. It’s a different city with Calgary. Guangzhou has great population and busy traffic. You can see people whenever and wherever. It's like a busy working machine. Never stop, never calm, full with energy. It's hard to find any peace in Guangzhou. Contrarily, Calgary is a peaceful city. It's an energy city, but not an engine. The life styles in these two cities are totally different. In Calgary, Most people work in daytime and back home in the evening, then stay at home for their whole night. In Guangzhou, night is much more colorful. We usually go out to shopping, watch movies and meet our friends at night. We prefer to go out for relax than stay at home. People in Guangzhou especially like to eat and have tea outside in late night. They call is “Late-night tea”. The shops never close until 11pm. The streets are full with people at night. Now I am experiencing the different life style in Calgary, time will tell me which style I prefer.
